FTP upload service is only available to FileFactory Premium members - please upgrade now if you are not already a Premium member!Uploading to FileFactory's FTP server using FTP software is simple and easy. Using FTP transfer you can upload files up to 1GB (1,000MB) in size (however you need to be a Premium member to download files over 300MB in size).
The advantage of file upload via FTP is that you can upload an unlimited number of files and folders, without having to manually select particular files. Uploading via FTP to our FTP server is also usually more reliable than uploading via a web page.
There is a wide variety of FTP software which you can use to upload files to FileFactory.
In order to upload via FTP please follow these instructions:
Step 1
Launch your FTP client and sign in to FileFactory using either the FTP address:
usa.ftp.filefactory.com (if you are based in the United States)
OR
eu.ftp.filefactory.com (if you are based in any other country other than the United States)
Your username is the email address you use to sign in to FileFactory, and the password is your FileFactory account password.
If you do not already own an FTP program you can find a good list of FTP programs here.
Step 2
Upload files to your account. You can create new folders and subfolders. You can also upload entire folders. However you cannot upload files to the "Completed" folder.
Using FTP transfer you can upload files up to 1TB in size (however you need to be a Premium member to download files over 300MB in size).
Step 3
After your files have uploaded and you are happy they have transferred successfully you need to drag or move your files to the Completed folder. The files will not be added to your account until you move them to the Completed folder.
Step 4
After your files have been placed into the Completed folder, we will move them into your account. We automatically create a folder in your File Manager called "FTP_Uploads". Your files will be moved here after they have been transferred from our FTP server to our storage servers (this could take a few minutes).
Step 5
You can move your folders around your file manager by clicking, holding and dragging to a new location. So you might like to move your files out of the FTP_Uploads folder and into another place in your account.
